You want to play? We play everyday of the week apart from Fridays.
We mostly play throw-ins (also sometimes called pick-up) A throw-in: people who want to play throw in their mallet into the middle of the court and these mallets are randomly selected into 2 teams of 3.
It’s a bit of a lottery.
In really busy throw-in sessions, we draw a few games out and play them in a row.
A throw-in game usually has 2 teams of 3 and plays first to 5 goals or sometimes simply 10 minutes (waiting players will time the game, and shout the time remaining). Have a look here for the rules we play by. In a throw-in game we don’t have referees as it’s just for fun!
Most week day games start after 7pm and on the weekends about 1pm.
West Welo Polo West London play Thursdays at Westway Sports Centre. Check here for details.
North-East Usually Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, at courts in Hackney & Islington. Check here for details.
South Usually Wednesday and at Newington Gardens, Southwark. Check here for details.
The very nature of the game is very sociable and we encourage all new comers to the sport.
If you want to play but worried about not having a bike or a mallet, there are plenty of players that will lend you theirs.

hello I’m looking for somewhere to play in south west London is there games going on there Isaac
Hi Isaac, I don’t think there is polo in south west London at the moment, although that could be changed. If you’re looking for beginner’s games in south London you should check the beginner’s thread on the London Bike Polo forum: https://www.lfgss.com/thread41959-115.html#post3751016, there’s normally at least one beginner’s session a week in Newington Gardens SE1.
Dear London Bike polo,
What age group can join the group?
Kind Regards,
Jessica Oti
